Hi William, I appreciate your reaching out to respond. I really do. It’s comforting to know that someone from Quora has at least read this.

I’ll be honest. I’m *exhausted* when it comes to reporting. I downvote and report, report, report and I don’t see the situation improving. It’s like a never ending duty. I’ve turned into an unpaid moderator.

Follow this link:

https://itsoktobewhite.quora.com/What-wont-whites-do-generally-speaking

You only need to look at a sample of the 100+ answers in there to see that it’s cesspool of racism of just that one question (there are many others).

Do I just ignore it? I can just look away I guess and keep exiting and muting but I don’t see that doing anything to improve the situation in the long term and I *really* want Quora to remain a healthy and thriving community in the long term.

I love the place but seeing all this starting to occur (or accelerate) is like watching a beloved figure get dementia and start yelling at pigeons in the square.

It needs to be acknowledged that the behavior you accept becomes the benchmark that you set.

Quora appears to be accepting openly racist and sexist behavior.

I joined Quora originally because of its robust policies and quick policing. I’m just not seeing that anymore and it worries me. Quora is still my go to (at the moment) but the site has some issues that I truly believe need to be addressed. I really want to see Quora truly adhere to it's BNBR policy and by that I mean taking a stronger stand against sexism and racism.

I hope to continue to contribute to the site for a long time to come.
